Lameness Investigations

Our equine clinic is fully equipped for lameness investigations with an all weather sand ménage, trot up area and examination room. Procedures regularly carried out at the clinic include:

  • Nerve and joint blocks to isolate causes of lameness.
  • Radiography – x-rays processed using our digital processor, so all images are computerised. Clinic machine capable of imaging stifle, neck and dorsal spinal processes (backs).
  • Ultrasonography – used for imaging soft tissue structures of the lower limb, joints, necks and pelvis.
  • Therapeutic joint injections.
  • Chemical Arthrodesis of the lower hock joints under standing sedation (new spavin treatment).
  • Stem Cell treatment for acute tendon injuries.
  • We have facilities to under take the majority of orthopaedic procedures, including fracture repair and arthroscopy (keyhole joint surgery).
