Sheep Obstetric Procedures
Dalehead veterinary Group provides veterinary cover for over 100,000 breeding ewes, from lowland pedigree Texel and Suffolk flocks, commercial flocks of mule ewes as well as hill flocks of Dalesbred and Swaledale ewes.
In lambing season (December – April) we encourage our farmer clients to refer lambing related problems to our purpose built farm animal surgical facility.
In addition to vaginal prolapses before and uterine prolapses after lambing we also attend to the full range of obstetrical problems ranging from malpresentations requiring manual correction through to ringwomb and oversized lambs requiring delivery by caesarean section.
At the peak of lambing time we will perform several caesarean operations each day.
